The Artists:
Piotr Damasiewicz – trumpeter, composer, and improviser. Known for his solo work and international collaborations, Damasiewicz moves between jazz, contemporary music, and experimental forms. His work seeks a deep, spiritual connection to sound and a highly organic approach to performance.

Her artistic practice spans structured compositions, free improvisation, sound documentary, and radio work.
June 30 | Jazz na Dachu – Warsaw (Praga)
Special guest: Wojtek Mazolewski
The tour opened on a rooftop in Warsaw’s Praga district with a performance featuring celebrated Polish bassist Wojtek Mazolewski. Joined by Damasiewicz and Rizzo, the trio delivered a raw and resonant improvisation – bass, trumpet, and percussion weaving together a spontaneous, pulsing conversation.
July 1 | Młodsza Siostra – Warsaw
Special guest: Paweł Szamburski
In the intimate setting of Młodsza Siostra, the duo was joined by clarinetist Paweł Szamburski – known for his experiments with tradition and electronics. The result was a performance full of tension and nuance, where silence was just as expressive as sound.
July 2 | Święty Spokój – Lublin
Special guests: Patryk Zakrocki & Grzegorz Lesiak
In Lublin, Damasiewicz and Rizzo invited two guitarists from different sonic worlds. Patryk Zakrocki (also on violin) and Grzegorz Lesiak brought elements of extended technique, rhythmic loops, and abstract textures, creating a rich and unpredictable soundscape.
July 3 | Alchemia – Kraków
Special guests: Barbara Drazkov & Marek Pospieszalski
Kraków’s legendary Alchemia club hosted an intense and expressive performance. Pianist Barbara Drazkov and saxophonist Marek Pospieszalski joined the duo, adding layers of free jazz, prepared piano, and spirited interplay to the already dynamic ensemble.

Special guest: Kateryna Ziabliuk
In the cozy, almost homelike setting of U Vincza, the duo was joined by Ukrainian pianist Kateryna Ziabliuk. This evening centered around softness, silence, and deep attentiveness – a slow and sensitive musical conversation that drifted gently through the night.
July 5 | Avant Art Festival – Wałbrzych
Damasiewicz / Rizzo – duo
At the Avant Art Festival in Wałbrzych, the duo performed in its purest form – just trumpet and percussion. This stripped-down format showcased the essence of their collaboration: breath, rhythm, tension, and release. A direct and immersive sonic experience.
July 6 | Toy Piano Gallery – Wrocław
Special guest: Paweł Romańczuk
The tour concluded in Wrocław at Toy Piano Gallery with sound artist and instrument builder Paweł Romańczuk. This final performance was a poetic experiment in miniature sounds, prepared instruments, and subtle sonic gestures – an intimate and playful end to a profound musical journey.
Listening as Encounter.
In the summer of 2024, the L.A.S. Listening and Sounding Foundation organized a unique concert tour that brought together two powerful artistic voices: Polish trumpeter Piotr Damasiewicz and Argentine percussionist Luciana Rizzo. Though coming from different musical and geographical backgrounds, the artists found common ground in improvisation, openness, and a shared commitment to sonic exploration.
This was far more than a series of concerts – it was a journey through diverse acoustic and architectural spaces, from rooftops and underground clubs to galleries and festival stages. At each stop, the duo was joined by guest musicians, making every concert a singular, unrepeatable experience rooted in attentive listening and creative dialogue.
