The Beginning of a New Journey

The opening of Listening and Sounding Gallery is more than the inauguration of a new venue on the cultural map of Bielsko-Biała. Above all, it marks the beginning of a space dedicated to creative encounters, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, and projects developed by artists associated with the L.A.S. Foundation as well as invited guests from Poland and abroad.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us during this special weekend. Your presence, conversations, and energy demonstrated how important places like this are—places that build community around art and culture.

We look forward to welcoming you at future events at Listening and Sounding Gallery. Information about upcoming activities will be announced on the foundation’s official Facebook page.

Day Two – Listening Together and Time in Nature

Sunday had a more relaxed and community-oriented character. The day began with a shared breakfast accompanied by a listening session featuring albums released by the L.A.S. Foundation. It was an opportunity to explore the foundation’s catalogue, discuss music, and exchange inspirations among participants.

After the morning gathering, the group set out for Szyndzielnia Mountain. The walk through the surrounding landscape became a natural continuation of the event, allowing conversations and relationships to develop beyond the gallery walls. Contact with nature, much like contact with art, offers a chance to pause, reflect, and view everyday life from a new perspective.

Evening Concerts Filled with Improvisation

Following the official opening, the audience was treated to another series of musical experiences. Three distinct artistic projects connected with the foundation took to the stage.

Piotr Damasiewicz presented his project Origins, offering an original musical vision rooted in improvisation and the search for new forms of expression. This was followed by the Damasiewicz–Miguła Duo, whose performance created a space for a subtle dialogue between sound and emotion.

The evening concluded with an energetic performance by the Kasprzyk–Lesiak–Kosendiak Trio. The musicians led the audience into the world of free improvisation, full of unexpected turns, intense sonic textures, and artistic freedom. The intimate concert setting placed listeners almost at the center of the musical action, while the proximity of the artists encouraged direct conversations after the performances.

09 March 2026

A New Home for Music and Art.

We have just experienced an extraordinary weekend that will remain in the memories of everyone who took part. On March 7–8, the L.A.S. Listening and Sounding Foundation officially opened its new creative and exhibition space – Listening and Sounding Gallery in Bielsko-Biała, Poland. The venue was created out of a need to create, connect, and share art in its many forms—from improvised music and visual arts to educational and community-oriented activities.

The opening brought together friends of the foundation, artists, cultural audiences, and all those who have followed the development of Listening and Sounding over the years. For two days, the gallery was filled with life, resonating with sound, images, conversations, and shared artistic experiences.

Day One – Music, Visual Art, and the Foundation’s Story

Saturday evening marked the symbolic beginning of a new chapter in the history of the L.A.S. Foundation. From the very first moments, guests could feel the unique atmosphere of a place designed to serve both artists and audiences seeking authentic cultural experiences.

The opening program began with a solo performance by saxophonist Władysław Kosendiak. His concert served as a musical invitation to discover the new space and its possibilities. The intimate setting allowed listeners to fully immerse themselves in the sound, creating ideal conditions for attentive and profound listening.

An important highlight of the evening was the opening of “Lines of Presence”, an exhibition by Justyna Miguła. The works on display invited visitors into a world of subtle relationships between memory, experience, and presence, creating a compelling dialogue with the musical part of the event. The exhibition became a natural extension of the Listening and Sounding Gallery’s mission as a place where different artistic disciplines can meet and interact.

Guests also had the opportunity to watch a film presenting the history of the Listening and Sounding Foundation—from its first initiatives and the development of international artistic projects to the creation of its own creative space. It was a moment of reflection on the journey the foundation has taken over recent years and an opportunity to thank everyone who has supported its activities along the way.

The evening continued with refreshments and informal gatherings that encouraged conversation, the exchange of experiences, and the creation of new connections. Such encounters are often just as important as the artistic presentations themselves, helping to build a community of people open to dialogue, collaboration, and shared creativity.
