The evening in Wrocław turned out to be a warm, calm, and much-needed closing of the year—one that did not so much conclude as it opened up space for new ideas, new collaborations, and many more sounds to come.

The evening featured:

  • Piotr Damasiewicz – trumpet, organs
  • Justyna Miguła – violin
  • Grzegorz Lesiak – guitar
  • Krzysztof Kasprzyk – tenor and soprano saxophones, electronics
  • Tomas Sánchez – congas, percussion instruments
  • Roland Abreu – double bass
  • Ignacy Caputa – drums

A special place in this lineup belongs to sixteen-year-old Ignacy Caputa, whose musical maturity and sensitivity became a powerful and moving element of the concert.

Ending the Year in a Good Rhythm

This concert was more than an artistic event. It was a meeting of people who enjoy being together—listening, talking, and sharing what matters. After the music, there was time for conversation, traditional sour rye soup, wine, and excellent bread. No rush. No rigid plan. Just presence and attention.

The event took place in the remarkable Sound Experience space in Wrocław—a venue that naturally invites focus, listening, and being present together. The gathering was co-organized with the Centre for Culture and Art in Wrocław (Ośrodek Kultury i Sztuki), for which we are deeply grateful. This collaboration gave the evening both a professional framework and a warm, almost home-like atmosphere.

L.A.S. Collective – A Band Born on the Road

The centerpiece of the evening was a concert by L.A.S. Collective—a group that emerged organically during the European tour promoting the L.A.S. release in 2024. This time, however, the audience encountered something different from the spontaneous improvisation often associated with the ensemble.

The music presented was a new chapter in the broad artistic activity of musicians connected with the foundation. The program consisted of compositions by Piotr Damasiewicz and Krzysztof Kasprzyk, performed in a septet format with an exceptionally attentive and refined rhythm section. The result was music that felt grounded and carefully shaped, while still leaving space for openness and breath.

A Holiday Gathering of the L.A.S. Foundation in Wrocław

The end of the year is a natural moment to pause. A time to reflect on what lies behind us and to begin thinking—carefully or boldly—about what lies ahead. In this spirit, on December 29, the L.A.S. Listening and Sounding Foundation, together with friends, organized a holiday concert combined with an informal gathering, conversations, and the shared shaping of future plans.
